Oh Thursdays in Corpus Christi, TX

So I'm a really big fan of Thursday night comedies on NBC. And Archer. Archer is fucking awesome. If you don't watch it, you should get a swift kick to the nuts.

But yes, this is what my life has come to in Corpus Christi. As my roommate goes on and on about "two dudes, drinking beer, watching shit", I recall Thursday nights in Austin. Bar tabs on sixth street. Girls. Not even girls in the douchey, "go pound some pussy, bro" kind of way. No, Space Command, we are well past that point. More like the "wow, that's a girl who is attractive" kind of way. But, eh, fuck it. Who doesn't love watching Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Drunk. With their equally (if not more so) intoxicated roommate. Perfect life.

Anyway, I usually like to rank the shows I watch on Thursdays in my head. Then I tell my roommate. He usually doesn't give two fucks about my pretentious ratings nor my equally awesome explanations, but at least he knows what I'm talking about. Sometimes I'll tell my friend, the Metal Accountant, about my ratings. But he really doesn't give a fuck. He's normally high. I think he watches Community now. He's not big into TV. Fuck him, right?

So the rankings. You (the reader) should know my rankings because they are important. At least to you. Because unlike the Metal Accountant or my roommate, you have made it this far. Thus you care. And I can't force you to care like my roommate (whom I'm bigger/louder than ((yes, I am a great friend) )(((parentheses are metal))) or the Metal Accountant (he's too stoned to get off the phone with me).

1. Parks and Rec: Anytime Swanson and the ex wife are the central plot, the episode is going to be fucking great. The mustache being rubbed off due to friction was a classic line. Also enjoyed how Rob Lowe is changing Ann Perkins. But ya, Ron Swanson is amazing. One of the best characters on TV.

2. Archer: I'll admit that the comedy on Archer is my personal favorite type. The call back jokes, dialogue, and just the way they push boundaries. All of that is awesome and totally metal. Usually Archer will be number one, due to my personal sensibilities. But ya, Swanson man. Fucking Swanson.

3. Community: Great episode of a great show. Honestly, I really love just hanging out with these characters every Thursday. And seeing how most of my friends are in intensive military training and I live in a shithole, hanging out with them pretty much gets me through till Friday. When my friends are able to actually go out again. Oh Thursday, I want you as part of my weekend again.

4. The Office: Barely edges out 30 Rock. I dunno, I liked having Jim and Pam do shit other than fuck with Dwight. I liked Dwight getting back to being Michael's wanna-be second hand man. Gabe was actually funny tonight. So ya solid episode. Glad to see the Office getting support from Community/Parks and Rec. Used to just be The Office and 30 Rock.

5. 30 Rock: Ok, this is probably the lowest ranking you will see 30 Rock. Normally 30 Rock is at least better than the Office and maybe taking the occasional 3 spot. And this 30 Rock was pretty fucking excellent. I think my mind maybe clouded by the fact that The Office was nostalgically good tonight. If it hadn't been for that I think 30 Rock would have been the 4. But ya. The more beer I drink, the less clear I am. Fuck.

Alright well back to watching Eternal Sunshine. I hope being 7 beers deep doesn't make this too difficult to follow. See tomorrow if I can make a comprehensive review. Also talk about the fact that I am on season 2 of Lost after crushing season 1 in three days. *Crushes beer can on skull*. God I'm cool
